FAQs

Your office has a female dentist?

Yes: She is a wonderful dentist with 20 years experience.

Do you accept Japanese National Health Insurance?

Yes: We do accept Japanese National Health Insurance. However, many of the procedures such as Porcelain inlay, crowns, veneers, and implants are not covered by National Health Insurance.

Would it be possible to use private insurance in your office?

Unfortunately, you cannot use this kind of private insurance.

Your office has an English-speaking dentist and telephone support?

Yes: Our dentist speaks excellent English.

Our director Dr. Kuribayashi has an excellent track record as a university faculty member and as an instructor at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He has also been treating expats and international residents in Yokohama for the past 20 years.

Is the medical application form in English?

Is the receipt in English?

Yes: Details of the cost will be explained at the sign-in desk.

Can I use a credit card?

Yes: VISA, MASTERCARD, AMEX, JCB and DINERS cards are accepted

Can you only have Teeth Cleaning?

Yes: Professional teeth cleaning is performed by the hygienist and/or dentist at the office. The hygienist uses tools to remove tartar from your teeth ― both above and below where the gum meets the tooth. Please feel free to contact us.

Can I Request a 2nd Opinion?

Patients with anxiety and dissatisfaction regarding the contents of prior treatment at other dental clinics are welcome to visit our office. Therefore, our office is actively accepting second opinions and dental care consultations of such patients.

Kuribayashi Dental offers an “In Office Treatment Consultation” where there are many diagnostic tools to help him provide you with a more detailed opinion. The cost of the

initial Consultation is “FREE”. However, all treatment is preceded by an examination and diagnostic process that will incur a charge, but this will be discussed prior to implementation.

Remember, the quality of the opinion is based on the quality of the information gathered plus the experience and knowledge of the dentist giving it. Dr. Kuribayashi has been practicing General Dentistry for over 25 years and has been reconstructing smiles with dental implants since 1998. Dr. Kuribayashi is an attending implantologist and Fellow of the International Team for Implantology, and he works closely with a team of specialists who provide the high quality and satisfaction when treating dental implant patients. By working together with other specialist, Dr. Kuribayashi is able to guide your treatment from start to finish.
